The Crypto, Culture, & Society Newsletter
Gm and welcome to the Crypto, Culture, & Society newsletter! If you’re new here, get started by learning about our history and mission and exploring how you can contribute to CCS.
Announcements
Our workshops have continued to create thoughtful space for learning.
Most recently, multidimensional artist Latasha shared her journey with music NFTs in a workshop hosted by fellow artist and friend of CCS, Sirsu. The following week, our seventh workshop of the semester featured Antoine Sakhos, product wiz and DAO expert (@AragonProject, @twoplusDAO), who shared more about how tools can shape us and our mental health in DAOs. As always, key takeaways from both workshops will be shared through our Mirror publication, The Society Journal, which is available to everyone — even those who aren’t CCS Learners. You should also follow us on twitter to stay up to date on our publication and upcoming events.
Meetups, Electives, & More
We’re excited to see more real life meetups happening for CCS Learners and Contributors. There’s so much value in getting to know fellow DAO members in person and our Community team is always thinking about how to create more IRL fun. Check out one of our hangouts in San Diego.
Also, our electives are proving to be an awesome addition to our Semester II offerings. If you need a refresher, electives are smaller, discussion-based courses for our Learners, focused on going deep on important topics within web3. This semester, we’re offering four: Simulated Realities: Mythology to Metaverse, A Modern Renaissance: Tracing the Art Historical Origins of NFTs, DAOs & Technological Determinism, and Web3 and Social Impact. Our Electives Team, led by Courtland Leer and Thomas Howell, held a workshop with our Elective facilitators this week and we’re really excited about the program’s potential in the rest of SII and beyond.
Community
One of the best parts about CCS culture is the endless love and support members show for the DAO and each other in discord, on twitter, and beyond. Here are a couple of moments we loved recently:
The Semester II Learners Section
This section is built for members enrolled in Semester II and includes private links only accessible for those with the Learner NFT.
Upcoming Events
We can’t wait for our next couple of workshops:
Tuesday 4/19: The Stories in the Machine with Simone de la Rouviere
Friday 4/22: Physical World, Digital Work with John Orion Young
Tuesday 4/26: Enriching Communities through Metaphors with Rafa and David Spinks
Thursday 4/28: Towards a Digital Pluriverse with Jasmine Wang, Divya Siddarth, and Daanish Shabbir
Make sure to tune into our workshop after parties for rich, extended discussion with fellow Learners. Remember, if you can’t make it to a workshop, you can access the recording and still take part in discussion through the #workshop-discussion discord channel. If you’re looking for a calendar of all our upcoming workshops, you can find one here.

If you haven’t checked out our CCS Community Mural yet (and are looking for a little creative fun) make sure to add something. :)
One of the best tools in our Member Notion is the Semester II Reading List. This is a general reading list for the semester that includes links related to workshops, community discussions, terminology, and more. If you’ve found yourself still thinking about a workshop from a couple weeks ago, you can dive right back into the material.
